What is Clinical Research?
Who gets to be in Clinical Research Studies?
What do all those Clinical Research words mean?
How is my health protected if I am in a Clinical Research Study?
How are my rights protected if I am in a Clinical Research study?
Participants in clinical research studies can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research. Some clinical trials offer more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.
Slocum-Dickson Medical Group is proud to announce their involvement in Clinical Research. Our Clinical Research Department is actively recruiting patients for the following clinical research studies:
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Osteoarthritis (commonly called Arthritis)
- Ear Infections
- Acute Coronary Syndrome (commonly called heart attack)
Participating in a clinical study is an important personal decision. If you are interested in learning more about clinical research at Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, or to see if you qualify for a study, contact the Clinical Research Program Manager, Jill Petro, BS, CCRA at 798-1771 or ask your Slocum Dickson Physician at your next visit. All clinical research studies are voluntary. We will be continually adding other studies.
