Responsible for administering established occupational therapy treatment programs in accordance with established plan and indicated procedures. Completes necessary documentation. Performs other related duties as requested by the Occupational Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows patients on caseload as indicated by occupational therapist without the need of direct supervision. Provides ongoing education to patients regarding problems and treatment approach when necessary. Provides appropriate feedback to the occupational therapist regarding patient status. May be periodically asked to meet during lunch or after work hours for meetings, in-services, and/or continuing education. Assists the departmental aides and receptionist on an ongoing basis. Performs other related duties as requested by the Rehabilitation Director. Must complete OSHA training requirements initially at orientation and annually thereafter.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS: Direct contact with patients both in person and over the phone. Must maintain a courteous and effective relationship with patients of the Group. Patient accommodation and satisfaction is critical. Must maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, staff, physicians and administration.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Associates of Science degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board, and licensed by the Department of Education by the State of New York.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting: Must be able to lift 20 lbs. infrequently.
Standing: Must be able to stand as needed to assist patient treatment and perform appropriate evaluation.
Sitting: Must be able to sit for patient treatment 30 minutes at a time
