GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Responsible for advertising, marketing, and public relations.  Responsible for professionally preparing advertisements for Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, to include all departments, ancillaries, satellites, individual physicians, educational programs, and upcoming events. Prepare and balance all marketing budgets.  Give creative input to the Marketing Department.


  • Liaison between local media, marketing/advertising agencies and SDMG
  • Responsible for marketing of all providers and SDMG
  • Responsible for executing advertising contracts
  • Conceptualize and create advertisements/scripts for TV, radio, print and digital media
  • Responsible for developing and updating department brochures, exam room signs, waiting room signs, photo boards and all other internal marketing material
  • Create and upload content for internal digital signage
  • Prepare and distribute press releases
  • Internal communications including monthly Administrative Newsletter
  • Maintain SDMG website
  • Maintain homepage of intranet (loop)
  • Manage SDMG social media accounts
  • Plan and execute SDMG Teaching Day
  • Prepare and present annual marketing budget
  • Coordinate corporate sponsorships
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
  • Key staff member for the SDMG website/intranet
  • Key staff member for the SDMG Internet Committee
  • Key staff member for the SDMG Marketing Committee
  • Key staff member for the SDMG Teaching Day Committee
  • Attends OSHA training upon initial employee orientation and annually completes an OSHA competency.
  • May be exposed to hazardous drugs.


Knowledge, Skills and Ability:  The ability to analyze problems and arrive at logical answers in dealing with the work content.  The ability to work with minimum supervision, follow through on projects, and complete tasks and assignments.  To possess a personality conducive to promoting public relations outside the Group.  Maintain strict confidentiality in regard to all Slocum-Dickson Medical Group P.L.L.C. matters either oral or written.  To have a thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of advertising.  Possess typing and phone skills.  Knowledge of various computer software packages to include but not limited to; Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Creative Suite.  The ability to establish effective working relationships with associates inside as well as outside the group.

Experience and Training:  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field with 5 years’ experience preferred.  The ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to all matters, either oral or written; the ability to work with minimum supervision; to follow through on projects and to complete tasks and assignments.

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting, standing bending and reaching.  May require lifting up to 50 pounds.  Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment such as computer, fax, calculators and telephone.  Requires normal hearing and vision.
