Checkups are usually about once a month. Starting at about the 28th week of pregnancy, you may need to be seen every 2 – 3 weeks. After 36 weeks, you are usually seen every week until delivery.
Prenatal care appointments usually include weight checks, fetal examination, physical exam, blood tests, and imaging tests depending on the stage of pregnancy. During your visit, there will also be discussions about the mother’s and fetus’s health, and any questions the expecting mother may have about the pregnancy. Prenatal care helps to prevent the risk of pregnancy complications and helps to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
