What do you enjoy most about being a physician?
Being a physician gives me the opportunity to forge partnerships with patients in order to offer understanding and treatment that is based on individual needs.
What inspires you?
I strongly believe in always knowing not just what to do but why. This is the driving force behind how I plan care for my patients. It inspires me to find what I can do to alleviate suffering using science and technology. During my undergraduate time at the University of Richmond, I spent a great deal of time researching the history of medicine and surgery not only because it was interesting but because I felt it was important. I want my patients to understand not only what I will be doing but why and how I will be doing it because I feel that leads to the best patient outcomes.
