Slocum-Dickson Medical Group is pleased to announce that James Cesare, MD, FACS has been named President of the Board of Managers. Dr. Cesare has been practicing medicine at Slocum-Dickson Medical Group for over 27 years. He began his career as a surgeon after completing his residency and internship at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT. He completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard University and his Medical Degree at Boston University School of Medicine. After spending several years as a surgeon, Dr. Cesare recognized a need for comprehensive breast care services for women in our community. To fulfill this medical need, Dr. Cesare initiated the development of Slocum-Dickson’s Breast Care Center. In 2005, the Breast Care Center opened its doors with Dr. Cesare as the Director. The center has continued to thrive under his leadership, providing patients with accessibility, early detection and expeditious care.
Dr. Cesare has also contributed to the Group serving as a member of the Board of Managers since 2015. His new role as President will see him taking on even more administrative responsibilities. His judgement, leadership skills, and vision for the future will help guide the Group. Dr. Cesare will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization to ensure that the Group’s high quality standards are maintained and patients have the best possible experience while receiving care. His many years caring for patients has strengthened his critical thinking skills and reinforced his passion for patient focused healthcare. Dr. Cesare is looking forward to continuing to see patients as Director of the Breast Care Center, while expanding his impact on the healthcare of this community through his new role as President of Slocum-Dickson Medical Group.
