Why I Chose Medicine

I chose to be a nurse practitioner as I wanted to make a direct positive impact on patients’ lives. I enjoy learning, reading and research, and as a nurse practitioner I am able to incorporate all of this to provide quality care to patients. I have always had a strong interest in caring for others and becoming a nurse practitioner has allowed me to do this everyday. I truly enjoy assisting patients and taking the time to thoroughly explain more about their diagnosis and current health.

Area of Interest

As a family nurse practitioner, I enjoy that I am able to care for patients of all ages. I love that I get to work in both internal medicine and pediatrics, as it allows me to apply my knowledge to all patient populations. Working in primary care also allows me to care for patients over many visits and truly get to know the patient, which I enjoy.

My hobbies include all outdoor activities, snowmobiling, golfing, dirt bike riding, wakeboarding, and hiking. I like to travel and also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
