I pursued medicine because it allows me to combine compassion with problem-solving, using knowledge to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. It offers the privilege of supporting patients in their most vulnerable moments.
Geriatrics is a profoundly rewarding field because it allows clinicians to care for the whole person, not just their diseases. It combines the intellectual challenge of managing complex medical needs with the deep satisfaction of improving quality of life in meaningful ways. Above all, it provides the chance to advocate for a population that is sometimes overlooked, making the work not only purposeful but also deeply fulfilling.
