Please call your primary care physician’s office directly.  Your physician knows your medical history and can give you the best direction when it comes to answering these questions.  If you do not have a primary care provider, please call Urgent Care at 315.798.1400 to discuss your symptoms and receive further instructions.

IMPORTANT:  If you are experiencing chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a fever of 103 or higher, or symptoms of a stroke, please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

Is Slocum-Dickson Medical Group providing COVID-19 vaccinations?

The Oneida County Health Department in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health has set up a vaccination site at Slocum-Dickson Medical Group @ Notre Dame Lane.  Click here for more information.

Below is you will find links to some additional vaccination sites.  You may also contact the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).  The COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline is open 7 AM – 10 PM, 7 days a week, to schedule vaccination appointments for eligible New Yorkers.

Is the vaccine safe?

Yes. The COVID-19 vaccines have been authorized and approved for use by the FDA, medical professionals and a New York State independent advisory task force.  While there may be some minor side effects, they are signs that the body’s immune response and the vaccine are both working. The vaccine is also safe for people with underlying health conditions. You are more likely to become ill without the vaccine.  If you have specific questions, you should contact your primary care provider for more information.  The Pfizer vaccine is now approved for children 12 and up.

When can I get the vaccine?

All individuals 12 years of age and older that reside in the United States are eligible to receive the vaccine. At Slocum-Dickson we are offering the Pfizer vaccine to ages 12+
