JOB SUMMARY: · Greets patients and welcomes them into building
- Provide assistance as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome patients as they enter the building.
- Transport or assist patients with limited mobility, including those in a wheel chair, around the building.
- Ask if patients need assistance and provide assistance as needed
- Provide directions, hand out maps.
- Make telephone calls to office within and outside Slocum Dickson if Needed.
- Make overhead announcements if needed.
- May be exposed to hazardous drugs.
- Attends OSHA training upon initial employee orientation and annually completes an OSHA competency.
HOURS: Full time, 9:00 – 5:00
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS: Direct contact with patient and non-patient populations within SDMG. Must be courteous and efficient in working with patients, staff, physicians and administration. Must be aware and respectful of people with physical and other disabilities and limitations. Patient accommodation and satisfaction is critical
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Graduated from High School or completed GED requirements. Must genuinely enjoy working with and helping people. Good general intelligence. Preferred previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 20 to 30 lbs infrequently.
- Must be able to stand and walk on average 8 hours /day.
- Limited ability to sit is required.
- Must be physically able to push and/or pull a patient in a wheelchair weighing up to 300 lbs for 50 to 100 feet in order to transport to and from doctors’ offices.
- Must be able to provide verbal information as needed.
- Requires normal hearing and vision.
